Robert Walker
Founder and Principal
Robert B. Walker founded Storage of America in 2003 and is also the principal of Walker International Capital, a real estate investment and development firm founded in 1990. Over the course of his career, Robert Walker and related entities have acquired more than 700 properties across self-storage, multifamily, retail, office, hotel, and land.
His experience spans acquisition, development, operations, and long-term portfolio growth, and his leadership has shaped the disciplined approach behind Storage of America.
Derek Walker
PresidentDerek Walker is responsible for the company’s development, operational, and financial activities of Storage of America. Prior to joining Storage of America, Mr. Walker was the Director of Strategic Projects and Urban Renewal for a national economic development consulting firm based in Ogden, Utah. In this role, Mr. Walker helped public and private clients with site selection, site design, project underwriting, tenant re cruitment, and the structuring of development incentives. Mr. Walker has also worked in New York City with a real estate advisory firm and a boutique condo developer. Mr. Walker graduated with honors from the University of Utah with a BA in Economics and holds a MS in Real Es tate Development from New York University. Mr. Walker resides in Wilmington, NC with his wife and two daugh ters.
